Cookie Policy

Last updated: February 10, 2026

1. Overview

Moneo uses a minimal number of cookies — strictly limited to what is necessary for the Service to function. We believe in respecting your privacy, which means no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics cookies.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website operators. Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (remain on your device for a set period).

3. Cookies We Use

Moneo uses only essential cookies required for the Service to operate correctly:

CookiePurposeTypeDuration
next-auth.session-tokenAuthentication session — keeps you logged in securelyEssentialSession / 30 days
next-auth.csrf-tokenCSRF protection — prevents cross-site request forgery attacksEssentialSession
next-auth.callback-urlRedirect handling — ensures you return to the correct page after loginEssentialSession
themeTheme preference — remembers your light/dark mode selectionFunctional1 year

4. Cookies We Do NOT Use

Moneo does not use any of the following:

  • Advertising cookies: No cookies from ad networks (Google Ads, Facebook, etc.)
  • Analytics cookies: No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or similar tracking cookies
  • Social media cookies: No Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or other social media tracking pixels or cookies
  • Cross-site tracking cookies: No cookies that track your activity across other websites
  • Fingerprinting: No browser fingerprinting or device identification techniques

5. Third-Party Cookies

When you use Stripe Checkout to process a subscription payment, Stripe may set its own cookies on the Stripe-hosted payment page. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy and are limited to the payment process. Moneo does not control these cookies, and they are not present on Moneo.one itself.

6. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, Moneo uses your browser's localStorage for a small number of user preferences:

  • Avatar image: Your profile avatar (if uploaded) is stored locally to avoid re-uploading on each visit.
  • Avatar color: Your selected avatar background color preference.

localStorage data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

7. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Set preferences for specific websites
  • Configure your browser to notify you when a cookie is set

Please note: If you block or delete the essential authentication cookies, you will be signed out of Moneo and will need to log in again.

8. Why No Cookie Consent Banner?

You may notice that Moneo does not show a cookie consent banner. Under GDPR and ePrivacy regulations, consent is not required for cookies that are "strictly necessary" for the functioning of a service that the user has explicitly requested. Since Moneo uses only essential session and security cookies, a consent banner is not legally required. We choose transparency through this policy instead.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever need to introduce additional cookies (which we currently have no plans to do), we will update this policy and, if the new cookies are not strictly necessary, implement an appropriate consent mechanism before deploying them.
